“No one could believe it when the war started… We were not ready and did not realize that this was happening to us in reality. I thank God that he saved us from going to our country house NW of Kyiv, where these horrors happened. Bridges and roads were blown up every day and it was scary to leave and scary to stay in Kyiv. On the 4th day, we decided to leave with our daughter and our dog. My husband Dmytro is still in Ukraine and we are in touch everyday. He does not take part in battles, since he is not a military man, but he is a builder and will rebuild the country after the war ends. Now, we are physically safe, but morally and emotionally everything is hard. We thank all the people who helped and continue to help us at the beginning of the war.“
