“At 5am we woke up to noisy explosions. We were very scared and my mother said the war had begun. Rockets were flying constantly, and something exploded. On the 7th day of the war, fighting broke out near our city. We almost lived in the basement for 10 days, always warmly dressed. We decided to flee when the tanks came, first to Poland on very crowded buses and trains. From Poland we travelled to Denmark and are very grateful for the help from Denmark.“
